Naomi visited our studio in July 2024 when she was expecting her second baby, she met Amelia that day and was so kind to answer a few questions about her session and sculpture.
1. Could you tell me about why you wished to create a sculpture of this time in your life?
” I booked a session with Milestonable because I was pregnant with my second and last baby, so I wanted to remember this precious time in my life and honour my body for what it’s done for me. I loved my pregnancy body and wanted to remember how I looked while growing my baby.”
2. How did you prepare for your session? Do you have any tips for women who will have their session soon?
“I did very little preparation! All I did was have a think about what pose I might like to try, and Amelia was there to guide me on the actual day. My tip would be to have a look at the many statues on display as you might have some last minute inspiration on the day!”
3. Tell me about how you experienced the posing session
“I felt very at ease and comfortable during the session. You get given a gown to wear before being scanned and while you’re waiting in between poses, so that helps with feeling comfortable on the day.”
4. How did you decide on the pose you went for and the material?
“I had a look on instagram and looked at the actual statues in the studio on the day to find a pose I might want to try. As for the material, this was decided on the day when I saw all the different examples on display in the studio.”
5. How was it to receive your sculpture?
“I felt pride at how my pregnant body managed to grow two babies!”
6. Where is your sculpture placed in your home?
“My sculpture is now in my bedroom on a book shelf. My oldest son points at it and says “mummy” every time he sees it!”
7. Is there anything else you wish to share?
“If you are debating having a sculpture made, I would say go for it – it’s a beautiful keepsake and one you will cherish forever!”
